This is the fourth Soma Wolverine I've built up and gosh, this Lunar Grey paintjob is just a 10/10 in my opinion - out of this world earth tone that blends in AND stands out at the same time.

 

Louli stumbled upon the shop while visiting town and it turns out she had fond memories of bike touring down the coast! She was initially interested in a Surly but after we looked at a bunch of framesets, it was a Soma she was set on using as a base.

 

A lot of the choices for this build reflect my personal favorites for parts, such as a bar-end shifter pulling around a big mountain bike derailleur, giving a 1x11 11-51 tooth drivetrain without the giant price tag. This is the first time I've spec'd these TRP Hylex hydraulic disc brakes and I am stoked on them! They felt awesome, test riding up and down the street and it's much easier to cut/shorten the hoses with their hose junctions right behind the stem.

 

Nothing feels better than some 100% cotton Newbaum's handlebar tape, especially when it's cushioned with some under-tape gel.
